In 2020 our first grade squad, made up of a mixture of youth and experience, battled against all the odds to reach the NRLWA Grand Final.

Under coach Peter Williams, the team performed magnificently in the finals, winning in extra time at Fremantle Roosters with a goal from halfback Sean Scott, winning at South Perth in the prelim final before facing the minor premiers Joondalup Giants in the Grand Final.

In what has been described as the 'greatest' grand final in WA rugby league history, both teams were locked up at 12-12 on the final siren before three sets of extra time could separate them, the Giants winning 13-12.

Coach Peter Williams has a superb track record working with young talent in the UK at the RFL, at Wigan and Warrington and before joining the Sharks he was coach of the NRLWA SG Ball side, the West Coast Pirates. In 2022 Peter Williams left the club and former coach Darren Shaw returned to guide senior football.

Darren has played and coached professionally in Australia and the UK, where he won a Challenge Cup winners' medal in 1998, playing for the Sheffield Eagles.

The head coach and his staff work closely with reserve grade and under-18s coaches to build pathways for players to reach their highest standards.
